Czech republic, one traditional “minifootball force” is properly represented to the EMF Champions League, as it was expected. We spoke to Ondřej Bíro, the GK of the Gamblers Most, one of the biggest minifootball teams in Czech Republic, comeing from Most city and he opened his heart for us. Enjoy him…
What are your personal goals for the EMF Champions League?
Personal goals are difficult to estimate, because we don´t know the quality of the other teams. However, it´s EMF Champions League, basically the highest rank you can reach in minifootball club stage. I´m sure that in the tournament, there will not be any weak teams. Our goal is to pass the group stage and then it’s about a lot of factors – actual form, quality of our opponents, etc. One mistake can be decisive. At the end, it is also necessary to have a little bit of luck.“
How is the preparation going? What are you doing in training regarding upcoming EMF Champions League?
We are preparing for the EMF Champions League in Maribor practically only in terms of administration and backstage. Our team is unique, since we don´t train at all. Most players have trainings in their football clubs. Together, we believe in the game intelligence of every player in our team, so we have no special trainings. We know each other for a long time and also know what to expect from our teammates.
Do you plan to create your own history in European minifootball? Is the EMF Champions League the best start for this?
We know that in Maribor we will represent our club, also our city Most and last but not least the whole Czech Republic, our homeland. It’s a huge commitment for us and we don´t want to disappoint. We know that the whole tournament and our performance will be highly followed and we will do our best to represent our club in high-level also at the European scene.
