We met Andrej Žáčik from the team FC Letka from Slovakia. FC Letka was the best in Slovaki in 2015-2016 and the title of the Slovakian Champion was a fair title for them.
Trenčín is the small beautiful town that they represent, an absolutely “minifootball town” and Andrej’s words help us see how the upcoming experience looks like for them,
– Which are the main differences between football and minifootball and why you prefer minifootball?
First of all, it is the speed of the game. Then, you definitely need to show more technical skills in minifootball. While playing football, it can happen that you do not meet with the ball for 10 or even more minutes sometimes. On the other side, when you play minifootball you have a lot of touches with the ball. All of those are the reasons why we prefer minifootball.
– Has the European Minifootball Federation changed the perspective of the way you think of your favorite sport, minifootball?
It is hard to say in this moment as we have not met the EMF directly so far. But for sure we feel from the preparation of the ECL that it is a professional environment. We had to prepare another set of jerseys, set up facebook page for our fans and many other things. Basically it shows us that even it is an amateur sports, it can be run in professional way.
– What are your personal goals for the EMF Champions League?
I personally do not have any special goals. All I want is to be fit and help the team on the pitch as much as I can. We are coming as a team, not as a group of individuals. We always want to play attractive football, entretain ourselves and spectators, and at the end win the game. For all of us it surely will be a great experience to compare our skills to rest of Europe and move our limits forward.
