The first day of the very first EMF Champions League started on a perfect note, under the brilliantly sunny sky of Maribor, in Slovenia. Ten teams took the fields in Playgreen Maribor Pohorje early in the morning to start the three-day tournament.

In the absence of LSA Sixte Perwez from Belgium, Deltum Burgas was awarded a walkover match with a 5:0 result. Local LPF Tolmin took on Croatian Veni Vidi Vici on the main field, and won their first match 1:0.

“We played well, but we still have to improve our game through the tournament. I always expect to win, but there are many strong teams. We have to wait and see how far we can go.” said Dražen Žarič of LPF Tolmin.

Czech Republic’s Gamblers Most faced Hungary’s Szigetszentmiklós BE4PRO and came out of the game with a 2:1 victory.

“We lost our first game unfortunately. We need to win the next one. But in the beautiful environment it is also important that we enjoy the tournament.” said Márton Spáth after their loss.

Moldova’s InterDnestrCom highly dominated their first game against Vienna Walzer, and finished the 40 minutes with a well-deserved 6:1 victory. Serbia’s DOK Šabac also added significant number of goals to their scoresheet, as they finished their match against IKZ Graz 5:1.

Bulgaria’s Gold ins Sofia won against Croatia’s CB Kula 4:2, while local NK Kapela Ekosen triumphed over Germany’s Bolzing FC at the end of an exciting match, ending 4:3.
