After the first successful event in May 2016, the world’s most inclusive 8-a-side international football tournament is back. It is the most important global event for clubs competing in the 8*8 format and Russia’s LFL invites all EMF members and affiliated teams to participate.
The CFL will take place in one of Moscow’s most prestigious districts, 15 minutes away from the city centre. Setun Park Stadium will serve as the event’s main venue, it is a state-of-the-art facility engineered and built specifically for 8*8 football tournaments.
Participants will have the opportunity to indulge in Moscow’s rich nightlife on a daily basis, while guided tours and excursions will also be available for those who are interested. A large number of notable guests are expected to be in attendance – this includes prominent businessmen, politicians, sponsors, professional football scouts, as well as sports and entertainment stars. The opening ceremony will be followed by a match between national teams of Russia and Tunisia and globally-renowned players will be taking part in the event.
150 teams are expected to participate in 2017 and matches will be broadcasted live in HD on youtube. Aside from the main tournament, the CFL will also feature the following:
– Youth tournament (5*5 and 8*8)
– Women’s tournament (8*8)
– Fan tournament (8*8)
– Indoor football / minifootball tournament (6*6 on a walled pitch)
A team can enter both the main and additional tournaments (if it wishes to do so).
