Slovakia is currently only the 18th on the EMF Members Ranking, but is without a doubt one of the most enthusiastic nations when it comes to playing minifootball. Slovakian teams will compete in all four of the upcoming competitions of the Mini4EU Minifootball Festival.
They are represented by Bratislava U23 in the U23 Cities Cup. The team is freshly formed, this Minifootball Festival will be their first time playing together on the pitches. The team’s most experienced and oldest player is Kevin Cekan (22), who is fighting to be be proven worthy of a nomination as player for the Slovakian national minifootball team. He aims to represent the country at the WMF U21 Word Championship in Prague later this year. The age average of the team is 19,1 years.

In the Women Cities Cup, Presov’s women team will have the Slovakian flag on their jerseys. The Eastern Slovakian team’s manager Marek Semancik was looking forward to the Mini4EU Festival and the new experiences. “We don’t know what to expect, but we want to show our best performance” – Mr Semanic said before the start of the event. “It will be definitely a huge event and we can’t wait to play our first match.” The Women Cities Cup will start on the 28th of September, next Friday.
In the Men Cities Cup, Zvolen Men will arrive from Slovakia. The team have good chances in the Cup as several players of the team already have great experiences from last two years’ EMF Champions Leagues, and plan to use it as an advantage. The Men Cities Cup will start a day before the Women’s event, on the 27th of September.
Kosice‘s team will participate in the Mentally challenged tournament. The team’s eight players representing Slovakia’s second biggest town have already played together on divers occasions, and told us that they cannot wait to visit Székesfehérvár. The team will play their first match in the Mentally Challenged Cities Cup on the 24th of September at 10 am, against Hungary’s Érted Vagyunk Szakiskola 1 team.
