At yesterday’s General Assembly of the European Minifootball Federation, held in Bratislava, decisions were made regarding the new President of the EMF. The position for the upcoming term (from 2024 – till 2029) will be held by the current President of the Slovak Minifootball Association, Peter Králik.
In addition to the presidency, decisions were also made regarding the position of Vice President of EMF and the selection of 5 members of the EMF Executive Committee. Former EMF President Borislav Aleksandrov from Bulgaria will be in the role of Vice President. The elected members of the Executive Committee are Yair Scher from Israel, Cem Durul from Turkey, Marian Cristian Lupu from Romania, Gianluca Finazzi from Italy, and Antonio Lopez from Spain.
“It is a great honor for me to have been elected as the new President of the European Minifootball Federation. It is also a reward of my previous work in executive positions in both international federations. I believe that in my new position I will be able to furthermore contribute to the growth of minifootball on the international stage from which will benefit all member countries. I would like to thank all members for their unanimous support and to the former President Borislav Aleksandrov as well, who has done high-quality work and I’m pleased that he will continue to serve on the Executive Committee as my Vice President.
Together with the newly elected Executive Committee of the EMF we will do our best to push minifootball in Europe as far as possible. Our main objectives will include focusing on digitalization, bringing modern elements to our events and developing member associations. I have been actively involved in international structures for 8 years now and from this new position, paradoxically, it will be easier to enforce proposals that can be also beneficial for Slovak minifootball. So far, combining these responsibilities hasn’t been an issue for me, so I have no concerns. Quite the opposite, I believe that we will bring top European or world events to Slovakia in the near future,” added Peter Králik.
Peter Králik graduated from the University of Economics in Prague with a specialization in sports economics. In 2014, he was a founder of a minifootball league in Bratislava, Slovakia which is now called the Niké TOP League and is played in 6 Slovak cities with over 160 teams. In 2017, he became the President of the Slovak Minifootball Association and also a member of the Executive Committee of the European Minifootball Federation.
A year later, he was elected as the Vice President of the World Minifootball Federation. In 2022, he was in the lead role of the Organising Committee of the EMF EURO in Košice. Thanks to this championship, this still relatively young sport gained many new fans in Slovakia and in other countries as well. EMF EURO 2022 was watched by 65 million people worldwide.
“In reflecting on my tenure as President of the European Minifootball Federation, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the trust and support extended by our member federations. Together, we have navigated challenges and celebrated numerous successes, significantly advancing the profile and impact of minifootball across Europe. As I transition to the role of Vice President, I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Peter Kralik, our new President. Peter’s vision and leadership are what the EMF needs as we embark on this next phase of growth. I have full confidence in our collective future and remain deeply committed to supporting our new President and the EMF in continuing to elevate our beloved sport,” said the former President of the EMF, Borislav Aleksandrov.
