Searching our lists of the teams, we found out that one of the most positive teams that will participate in the EMF Champions League, Bolzing FC from Germany has some nice stories to share with us, just a few days before the kick off of the ECL. Vincenzo Cangianiello, one of the important players of the team talked to us.
How is the preparation going? What are you doing in training regarding upcoming ECL?
To be totally honest, we have not yet been prepared for the ECL. All of our players are full time students and currently we are taking exams. However, everybody is playing for his 11-a-side team and therefore everybody is in good condition. We spent a lot of time in preparing the organization of our trip to Maribor to have great 4 days in Slovenia.
Perhaps we will spend a couple of hours before the ECL to speak about tactical things and to study default situations. There we trust in our goalkeeper Matze Knebel who achieved lots of experience during the European Championship. Furthermore, we have to get used to the smaller field.
We heard you bring some fans with you? What can you tell us about this?
After winning the German Uni-Liga we had the idea to make a big deal out of the ECL. Bolzing FC was established in 2012 and since then we have a really big community of former players, fellow students and other friends. Our fans will be our biggest motivation in Maribor and they will push us forward. Our biggest goal is to have 4 amazing days with our fans in Maribor.
If you would win the ECL, what would you do?
First of all, the new trophy will need a name. Maybe “Sarah´s mum”(We gave the Uni-Liga the name “Sarah”, because “Sarah” was the first woman who kissed our trophy). We heard that the winner of the ECL will get a huge prize money. With that we would fly to Mallorca directly from Maribor. At the end we would need to scout new players for our team since a few of them wouldn´t survive this trip!
We have seen you on pictures with Thomas Mueller, did he give you any tips for your first international matches?
First of all, Thomas is a really nice guy and he is just like he appears to be on television. He told us that international matches are always something special. Especially, when you enter the field with the Champions League anthem. This is a big additional motivation and push! We will do our very best to represent German minifootball!
