The whole Montenegrin delegation, led by President Nebjosa Kraljevic, is still delighted following their return from Crete.

The President of the Montenegro Minifootball Federation was firstly full of praise for the hosts. “It turned out that EMF made a smart decision when they offered Greece and the Greek Association to host the championship. Greece fully justified EMF’s confidence. Everything concerning organization was at a high level and giant steps forward were made compared to the previous miniEURO in Moldova.”

“I hope that we will continue at this pace and that next miniEuro will be even better and that we will, all together, overcome the small problems we come across in the organization of such events.”

The players have enjoyed celebrity status since their return from the championships,  as Nebjosa explains: “As for our country, this championship attracted big attention. National broadcaster RTCG directly broadcasted matches of the national team, and thus we were put side by side with the national football team whose FIFA WC Qualifiers’ matches were also broadcasted live those days.

“Upon our arrival home, we had a couple of guest appearances on television and there we were talking about all, mostly positive experiences.

“Honestly, we were a little surprised by the attention and the number of people following the event, especially because of the fact that this is something new and that the public is not yet fully acquainted with this sport.

I am more than sure that this championship has contributed a lot in popularizing minifootball in Montenegro.”

The current focus for minifootball in the country are two leagues with total of 60 teams, the championship involves almost a thousand players on a weekly basis.  Nebjosa said that he was already planning for 2014 “We are eagerly waiting for the news about the next miniEuro and we will try to be ready for it,” he said.  “We are looking forward to meeting and competing with our friends from all over Europe
