The representatives of the Romanian Minifootball Federation have received, from the headquarters of the Ministry of Youth and Sport, the document which certifies minifootball as an official discipline. The country has achieved this performance six years after the foundation of the Romanian Minifootball Federation and 10 years after minifootball has started being played in an organized manner at national level.
The President of the Romanian Football Association,Ioan Onicaș was delighted: “It is a very important moment for minifootball, the acknowledgement from the Minister of Youth and Sport being the main objective of the federation. We are very excited for having succeeded in achieving it and we salute the openness of the MYS towards the sports of the masses, which is one of the main pillars of a healthy society. We consider that the work of every person involved in the phenomenon has paid off and we promise that we will continue to make efforts to further develop minifootball in Romania, the country that has consecutively conquered no less than six out of six European titles. We appreciate the fact that the Ministry of Youth and Sport has given the required attention and has acknowledged the progress and development of minifootball in Romania” declared the President.
The strongest mass sports discipline in Romania, minifootball, has more than 23.000 registered players and their number and the number of participant teams is growing larger and larger. In this moment there are 45 championships being organized in 32 districts and in Bucharest City.
The other European titles gained by the national team during 2010 and 2015 have also contributed to this decision of the Ministry of Youth and Sport.
