Due to the Covid-19 pandemic that has swept across the world, affecting many countries, we’re sad to announce that this year’s Euros, scheduled to take place in Kosice, Slovakia, in November, has been postponed and will now be held in 2021. The location and the date will be determined in the following months.
Furthermore, the EuroCup, due to be held in September in Riccione, Italy, has also been canceled. The club tournament will return in 2021, along with the EMF Champions League.
“With regret, we have to inform you that the EMF have had to cancel the 2020 edition of the biggest European minifootball competition – The EUROCUP. Due to the travel restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, many teams and countries are not able to travel, in addition, the opinion of the health experts is that there will be a second stronger wave at the beginning of September and the chance for more restrictions to apply are big. I am confident that humanity will manage to overcome this crisis in 2021 and we can see each other again led by our common passion – minifootball. Stay safe.” – Borislav Aleksandrov, the EMF President.
The unwanted break for elite European competitions has allowed the European Minifootball Federation to plan well in advance for 2021, and we’re excited by the tournaments we have scheduled for next year.
