Yesterday we brought you all the news from the first ever junior Minifootball international, which took place between Croatia and Bosnia.

The matches – one between youngsters born in 2006 and another with children born in 2007 – were a tremendous success and now, according to Croatian Minifootball Association President Bruno Alpeza, they will become a regular fixture.

Mr Alpeza outlined plans to make a football camp by the seaside at which children would be able to play matches, and said he was delighted with how everything had turned out with the junior game: “Everyone was very excited about the event, everything went excellently, it was a truly historic moment for everyone,” he said.

He added: “I would like to place on record my thanks to Bosnia for coming and participating in this event, especially to coaches and Bosnia president Mr.Bojan Rajković, as well as our sponsors RG Gloves, SC Šestine, Mr.Stošić, Chillout Hostel Zagreb,”

Mr Alpeza’s thoughts were echoed by coach, Matija Drušković who added: “The youngsters were fantastic and I would like to thank everyone who helped and also the parents of the children.”

The event exposed the children to the media for the first time, with many giving interviews to the waiting cameras, but just as important it acted as a prelude to the Zagreb youngsters championship, starts on Saturday 21st March, with many more similar events planned.
