Belgium came out on top in the first ever GBMFU Tri Nations, as they fended off spirited challenges from neighbours France and host nation England.
Belgium got off to a flying start as they took a 2-0 lead against France in their opening match only for Les Bleus to peg them back at 2-2, but the Red Devils restored their lead seconds later and hung on for a 3-2 victory.
In the second game, England, playing at home for the first time looked nervous and a couple of mistakes saw them fall 2-0 behind to Belgium, England got on top after that but then went 3-0 down before 2 quick goals saw the Three Lions reduce the deficit to just one, however Belgium scored two late goals as England looked for the equaliser and the Belgians secured a comfortable victory.

That win meant Belgium had secured the Tri Nations even before the last game was played but the game of the night was still to come, England led 1-0 & 2-1 before France turned the game on its head and went into a 4-2 lead. A spirited England, buoyed on by the home crowd scored twice to take the game to penalties and the hosts won the shootout 2-1.
So, Belgium were crowned champions with England in second and France 3rd. It was a brilliant tournament played in front of a full house inside the spectacular Ballerz Dome in London.
