The first ever international women minifootball competition started today as part of the Mini4EU Cities Festival, in Székesfehérvár. The Women Cities Cup saw eight teams – from Romania, Serbia, Hungary, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Slovakia and Moldova – fighting for a place in Saturday’s semi-finals.

Team Prešov

The teams were placed into two groups and played all three of their group-stage matches during the joyful and sunny day. In Group A, local Csepel started the day confidently with a 5:0 match against Šabac, but the other two teams of the group proved to be too strong for the Hungarians.

Brussels won the group almost effortlessly, finishing the day with 7 points. The Belgian women beat Šabac 5:0 and group’s second Drobeta 3:0, before drawing their last match 2:2 with Csepel.
