After three training camps with five games the German Minifootball Association is ready for the miniEURO 2014.

In September national team coach Marc Müller scouted a lot of players in Bochum and tried to find the new miniEURO squad. Many players of the last year got the chance to qualify again because of the huge success with the bronze medal. But it was also very important to get new impulses and more competition within the team.

Four weeks later Germany played the Simost Cup in Cesky Dub (Czech Republic) against two teams of the host and the selection of Slovakia. The results were mediocre. Two losses against the Czech and a victory against Slovakia meant a lot of work for coach Müller: “We had no balance in our game and we defended very bad. But there were the first games after miniEURO 2013 and important players were missing like Florian Thamm, Daniel Jagenburg and Fabian Diringer. So there is no reason to be uneasy.”

Just ten days after this journey Germany was host for the 3-Nations-Cup in Sippersfeld. The squads of England and Luxembourg accepted the invitation and the 350 spectators near Kaiserslautern saw great games, a lot of goals and tension until the end. In the first game England beat Luxembourg with 1:0. After that match the German team, which had a long video analysis about the matches in Cesky Dub, showed greatly improved. Although Luxemburg took the lead, at the end the home team won with 6:1. So in the final game England and Germany played not only for prestige, but also to win the tournament. Both teams offered great minifootball and the team from UK took three times the lead. Müller’s men showed great morale and equalized three times the result, in which the goal for the 3:3 from Fabian Diringer came in the last second of the game.

In the end Germany won this cup with a little luck, but generally showed a good performance. The coach was happy: “The team showed great morale like in Rethymno last year. The tactical implementation was much better than 10 days before, so we get the next step in our development. We have to work now for the details like individual fitness. But I am confident for miniEURO in Montenegro.”

The German delegation will travel to Herceg Novi on Tuesday, 25th of November and will have the first game against Cyprus at Thursday, 27th.
